LoveSpice @ PAPA Awards 2011

Spiced Chilli Oil manufacturer LoveSpice has been highly commended at the 2011 PAPA Awards (Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association).

LoveSpice was founded by Radha Gagneja  and she launched the business last June with her first two products a “Green Chilli and Garlic oil” and “Green Chilli and Ginger oil”

Radha’s oils are all Olive Oil based and instead of using dehydrated ingredients to flavour the oils, she uses fresh, making this oils a very versatile cooking ingredient ideal to marinade meats, fishes and vegetables or to use as a base to create dishes such as stir fries, pastas and curries.

100,000 Scoville Naga Chilli Vodka

From specialist whisky retail Master of Malt comes a vodka infused with Naga chillies, they make it themselves, and you can read about the process in on their blog.

They fill a carboy (about 6 gallons) with Vodka and about 18 kg of Naga Chillies and left if for a few weeks to mature..

You can now buy this stuff direct from Master of Malt’s web site at for £31.95  you get a 70 cl bottle full of the 40% proof spirit.

If we can get a bottle for review, we will get a few reviewers together for a tasting..

This is our last Top 10 of 2011, and we are please to find ourselves at #2 and the only non-shop site in the listing yet again. There is no real surprise the #1 slot is Hot-Headz who has been working very hard on the web site and PR, they have either been #1 or #2 every month this year.

Hot-Headz  have provided a constant supply of products and information over the year,  they make it very simple to write a story about what they are doing. While they are not the site most popular for links out from ours they are always near the top. 

Great to see Scorchio back in the top 10, don’t know what happened to them last month?

We have received a couple of products from Hot-Headz we think you will all be interested in, after many years working on them, Stuart at Hot-Headz are finally created his own range of crisps, there are just two varieties to start.

Hot-Headz - Hot Chilli Crisps/Chips

The first  flavours are going to be Chipotle Mustard & Inferno Habanero Chilli, they come in large 142g (5oz) packs and we expect then to retail for a very competitive £2.49 a packet.

The taste from each is excellent with the Inferno living up to the name, but that is enough for now, we will be doing a full review once stocks have arrived in the new year.

Red Dog Saloon

In my best wild west voice over voice… ” Them vermin dat run that there Red Dog Saloon, have a got to thinking that them Brits are just a bunch of lily livered chickens”

Well they have a challenge for all you tough guys, can you eat their Buffalo Wings!! The wings comes in three possible  top secret wing sauces:

1. BW1 – The Mild One
2. BWNapalm – Hotter
3. Armageddon – nuff said.

Well about 50% of people seem to finish the BW1 Wings, that drops to 20% for the BWNapalm.. but sadly NO ONE has completed the Armageddon wings..

All contestants will be featured on our wall of fame/shame accordingly.. So if you are near them at 37 Hoxton Square, London, N1 6NN, why not pop in and give it a go, if you succeed tell them you read the ChileFoundry, it you fail.. you know what to do..

Levi Roots - Reggae Reggae Sauce

It seems that Levi Roots has gotten in to a spot of bother at the High Court.  He is being sued for £600,000 by former business partner Tony Bailey and financial advisor Sylvester Williams.

It seems the recipe was not as we had been led to believe handed down from his grandmother, and a few other things may also not be as described..

The Reggae Reggae brand has since his initail investment of £50k on the Dragons Den in 2007 has grown to be a £30m business..

Darth Naga - Movember
