The Habanero (From Havana) is one of the best know varieties with many many hot sauces using this as their base, for many years this was the record holder as the worlds hottest chilli, but it has now been surpassed by the Naga-Bin Joloka.

This is still a great chilli to cook with, it heat hides a great fruity flavour.
