ChilliPepperPete Dragon Slayer Enhanced

Dragon Slayer Enhanced

There I sat in friendly company, spoon of death in my hand, Mrs Naga behind the camera and everyone around me watching with baited breath, waiting for me to indulge in my passion right before their very eyes..I am of course talking about my latest video review, and this one is of a sauce from the now Legendary “Chilli Pepper Pete”!

For those of you that don’t know of Pete, he’s a hippy, far-out sort of guy who has a passion for all things hot, he grows alot of peppers himself and as such all his sauces are his own, he does’nt import any sauce as he would rather sit at home and make it himself, and why not? His sauces are sold in many places besides his own website www.chillipepperpete.com and they are also stocked alongside many other brands of hotsauce at the Fiery Foods shop in Brighton Marina!

Ingredients: Vinegar, Blueberry, Fresh Naga Bih Jolokia, Prunes, Crystalised Ginger, Cherries, Green Tabasco Chilli, Dugar, 6 mill  Shu & 12 mill Shu Extract, 15 Mill Chilli Crystal.

“Dragon Slayer” is a sauce that gives off a major “DOn’t f**k with me” vibe, from the dark dangerous looking sauce inside, to the big green dragon adorning the outside of the 60ml square glass bottle, it contains 3 different types of capsaicin extract at 3 different heat levels, so i intelligently expected this to be hot, but as with most of the sauces i try, i did’nt fully anticipate how hot.

I decided to do this video review round at my good friends Sean and Barbies house, his cousin David was also there, little did they know i was planning to do a review! I rocked up to the house and asked both Sean and David if they would do the review with me and they politely (and smartly) declined, but insisted that they get a live performance of me doing one of my reviews, so, not wanting to disappoint i set about getting things sorted for the review.

Now before you watch the video below, i must mention that both Sean and David tried the sauce before me and both commented how they did’nt think a TOOTHPICK of sauce was that hot and that i would have no problem with it, BUT! there is a massive difference between a toothpick of sauce and a frigging TEASPOON of the stuff..and as always i pretty much died! Please watch the vid below, and send your condolence cards to the chillefoundry! (why the hell do i do this????)

Okay, so there you have it! its a bloody hot sauce that is’nt as hot as i imagined it would be but its still off the scale! The thing i liked the most about it (besides the heat, which i honestly enjoy!) was the wonderful fruity naga flavour it had, in fact if Pete left the extract out and remarketed the sauce without it under a different name i reckon he’d be onto a winner!

The sauce itself is mainly available at www.chillipepperpete.com and of course at the Fiery Foods shop in Brighton Marina ( details at http://www.fieryfoodsuk.co.uk/ ). On Petes own website the sauce is a mere £6 for 60ml, but as with all the extreme heat products, this is’nt a sauce you’ll be using up quick, a couple of drops at a time should suffice, but hey if you’re a nutter just splash it on everything!!

Right thats about enough from me, all i can say for now is to grab a bottle of this sauce, especially if you liked “Dragons Blood” as this sauce is designed to be the next level up so give it a whirl and let me know how you get on!

Chilli Pepper Pete - Satan's Shit

Chilli Pepper Pete - Satan's Shit

I’ve said all the prayers necessary..lined my stomach with bread and milk..left all my worldly possessions to Hot Juan…now it’s time to man up and try this stuff..

I am of course talking about a sauce from our good friend “ChilliPepperPete“, again this is a man (and a company) that needs no introduction and as such I’m not going to give him one! (or an introduction LOL) but the sauce today is a different matter altogether, this sauce contains ingredients hotter than hell itself and has been developed over time as an “ultrainsanelyOMFGhot” (yup i just made that word up) product by Peter Seymour himself, one of the fathers of the British hot sauce movement, and as such you know that if Pete says its hot, it’s REALLY hot.

There only a few people besides Pete in the hot sauce world that make products that are in the same category as this stuff and those people know what the word “ultra hot” actually means, and nutters like me love em for it!!

Ingredients: Fresh Naga, prunes, vinegar, blueberry juice, cherries, green tabasco, sugar, 12 Mill chilli extract, 15 Mill crystallised chilli extract.

This “Satan’s shit” looks like evil stuff, i have to be honest.. even on Pete’s website he says himself “Taste Satan’s last supper. This is what I believe HIS poo would taste like. This is for the chillihead from hell. When descending into the pit of doom take a jar with you to brighten the way”. So basically it’s a nice brown colour with flecks of red in it (from the Naga and cherries I believe) and the little glass jar has one of Pete’s newly designed logo’s on it and is very eye catching in shades of green and red with pics of old nick himself adorning the label.

I tentatively opened the jar after donning a hazmat suit, and lifted the helmet to take a tiny whiff…wow I could certainly smell the extract bubbling away in this beauty, it was at this point i suddenly went a little cold and began to fear for my life ( as is evident in the video), the sauce definitely had a fruity aroma to it also but this was masked quite well by the extract smell, not that it’s a bad thing as this sauce has been developed for this purpose, not as a treat for the kids but only for the most insane chile headz to consume.

I took my tasting spoon and dipped it into the sauce, taking the tiniest amount and swallowing it the heat kicked in almost immediately, it was then in those brief few seconds before my mouth entered the depths of the underworld that I could taste a hint of fruit, and for those moments it was nice, then the rollercoaster of ALMIGHTY F***ING AGONY hit me as it felt like the devil had punched me in the mouth!!

Once the camera had finished rolling, and i had consumed over 2 litres of milk (my mouth was still on fire even then!) I decided that this product was indeed one of the hottest things I had ever tasted, and as such have since placed it in a safe place away from the hands of lesser mortals lest they wish to gamble their lives.

This stuff is up there with Blairs “Ultra Death” and Hot-Headz “Who Dares Burns 2nd Assault“, at £10 a jar it’s certainly not the cheapest product you’ll buy, but imagine if you will that the amount I ate in the video has barely touched this stuff and that would be hot enough to make a really hot curry or chilli, and I think you’ll agree that with that, this product is excellent value for money and well worth a purchase, there is no alternative and I have already mentioned a couple of pouring sauces that are in the same league as this stuff, but beware if you do buy it, and you taste it neat..DO NOT blame me for the consequences, you have been warned! Good luck to those of you that purchase this amazing product, say hi to Pete when you see him and tell him The Chile Foundry sent you!!

May the sauce be with you my chilli padawans!!

Chilli pepper Pete's - Dragon Slayer Enhanced Hot Sauce

Chilli pepper Pete's - Dragon Slayer Enhanced Hot Sauce

Chilli Pepper Peter is a maker of award winning sauces and one of the leading UK developers of Hot Sauces. It is interesting to visit Pete and his family, there is always something cooking to taste, and as they are just a few minutes from Brighton we have a reason to visit the shops as well.

In the post this week arrived a small bottle of a sauce Pete has been developing. “Dragon Slayer Enhanced – Batch 3 Crystal Enhanced” it comes in a small 60ml bottle with a green label (must nag Pete to improve his labels, this one is hard for us old duffers to read) on the bottle is a warning about the extreme nature of this sauce and a quick look at the ingredients makes me a little apprehensive.

Ingredients:-
Vinegar, Blueberry, Fresh Naga Bih Jolokia, Prunes, Crystallised ginger, cherries, Green Tabasco Chilli, Sugar, 6 Million SHU Extract, 12 Million SHU Extract, 15 Million SHU Crystal.

I always taste hot sauces initially with a cocktail stick so I can control the burn (I have tried a teaspoon to many times), if you do this remember to give the bottle a good shake first as the capsicum extract can float to the surface, but this sauce seems very evenly mixed with a darkish tan/brown colour.

On opening the bottle, the smell is almost oriental with definate smell or extract. I just touch the cocktail stick into the sauce and place it on my tongue, the heat is instant, I am glad this was not a video clip, I am afraid to say I did not get almost any flavour or any aftertaste, just heat and lots of it. The heat did not last long, that is the advantage of using a cocktail stick and not a spoon.

The second taste was a little less extreme, but is it still hard to find the fruits, but you can smell them, I think I got a hint of the ginger. I can as I write this still feel a cleaned area on my tongue where the sauce spread.

This sauce is definitely in the extreme heat range  with it’s combination of 6 Million SHU Extract, 12 Million SHU Extract and 15 Million SHU Crystal. This sauce is not to be used neat, but is designed to be used in cooking or as a micro condiment (a very little on the edge of your plate)

If you are a fan of super hot sauces, this is a must for your collection, being produced in small batches makes each unique as the recipe is developed.

I have not found this on Pete’s web site www.chillipepperpete.com so of you want a bottle, you need to email pete@chillipepperpete.com or phone 01273-705606.

Note: This sauce is available online at Scorchio
