Can you make a chilli product to rival the pros, if you make a mean chilli chocolate brownie, a ravishing relish or a quaffable chilli beer or wine, or almost anything with chilli in it then Fiery Foods UK Ltd want YOU to enter our Amateur Sauce Contest.

The judging will take place on Sunday 18th September and, if you win, your product will be marketed and sold by FFUK.

HOW TO ENTER

Click on this link to download  and complete the entry form then send it to info@fieryfoodsuk.co.uk or: Fiery Foods UK Ltd, 56 Greenways, Ovingdean, Brighton BN2 7BL. We will then contact you with further details about the competition. Bring your sauces to the FFUK Chilli Festival in time for the judging at 12pm on Sunday 18th September.

THE PRIZE

If your sauce wins then you will have the chance to make your sauce under the professional guidance of the UK’s top chilli sauce producer, Chillipepperpete, and then sell it on commission in the Fiery Foods UK shop in Brighton.

COMPETITION RULES

  1. The entry must have chilli as an ingredient (fresh or dried).
  2.  The entry may be a sauce, jam, chutney, pickle, cooking sauce, marinade, jelly, pesto.
  3.  The entry must be home-made by the entrant and not bought, either from a shop, supermarket, farmers’ market, bring-and-buy, etc.
  4.  The entry must be made by the person entering the sauce and must not have been sold at any time prior to the competition.
  5.  The entrant must not be producing any chilli products in a professional capacity.
  6.  The entry may be made using an existing recipe or an original recipe devised by the entrant.
  7.  There is no limit as to the number of ingredients used.
  8.  The entrant may enter more than 1 sauce.
  9.  The judges’ decision is final.
  10.  The entry at the National Chilli Awards final must be the not be the same sauce from a previous FF UK competition and the entrant must abide by those rules set above.
  11.  The winning entrant may be required to meet press and media arranged by Fiery Foods UK Ltd.
  12.  Entrants must abide by any other regulations that the organisers of Fiery Foods UK may see fit.

The Fiery Foods UK National Chilli Awards 2011 are here to celebrate the UK’s  growing chilli market.

The UK Chilli world is growing in confidence and the National Chilli Awards is the UK producers chance to show what we can be do. So if you grow chilli, produce a sauce, or make almost any chilli product here is your opportunity to win an award for all your hard work.

One only need to look at the 2011 Guild of Fine Food Awards winners to see just how many chilli product have won awards this year. So now it is time for the UK Chilli Industry to celebrate it’s own winners.

NOTE: Entries close on the 1st Stepember 2011

The Categories

  • Best chilli jam/Sweet chilli Sauce
  • Best Chilli pickle/chutney
  • Best bottled chilli drink (non and alcoholic, syrups & cordials, etc)
  • Best non-bottled chilli product (can include dried products)
  • Best Naga sauce (non extract)
  • Best extreme sauce (with extract)
  • Best label
  • Best chilli grower
  • Best chilli company newcomer (under 1 year trading)
  • Best chilli company

The Rules

  1. You can only enter 1 product per category. To enter each category there is a charge of £5 and the supply of 2 sauces to be used as tasters, Please make sure that your product is entered in the right category. The organisers can move the entry to a different category at their own discretion if required. Entries must be send by 1st Stepember 2011 to: Fiery Foods UK, 56 Greenways, Ovingdean, Brighton, East Sussex. BN2 7BL.
  2. Each product will be tasted blind by a panel of judges who will taste separately and make their own decision before coming to a decision as a group. The judges’ decision is, of course, final.
  3. The BEST UK CHILLI COMPANY will be judged from entries nominated by other chilli companies. No company may nominate itself and can only make 1 entry in this category. The entry must be accompanied by supporting written evidence.
  4. BEST UK CHILLI GROWER and BEST NEWCOMER categories may receive entries by the name company or by nomination from another company. The entry must be accompanied by supporting written evidence (Website, Photo’s, Affidavits, etc)
  5. The judging of the 3 finalists in each category will take place during the morning for the award ‘ceremony’ at 2pm on Saturday 17th Sept.
  6. Winners will receive a trophy and certificate plus prominent display and promotion in ChiliPepperPete’s Chilli Shop in the centre of Brighton, on their on-line shop and website plus any media exposure that may result.
  7. The ChilliFoundry will also be covering the event and will promote the winners in a number or articles/reviews in the months following

Big changes in the top 10 UK Chilli Web sites with a new #1 site www.scorchio.co.uk while the old number 1 has drop to the 10th slot

This is an amazing jump for Scorchio, they have jumped 27,394 in the UK most popular sites, while South Deveon Chilli Farm has dropped 88,240.

New entries this month are Fire Foods of the Infinity Chilli Fame, Fiery Foods UK who run the Brighton Chilli Festivals as well as their infamous Chilli Eating Contests and MexGrocer who went from not being listed for UK visitors on Alexa last month.

We seem to be stuck at #3 yet again..
