Hot-Headz - Hot Chilli Crisps/Chips

Anyway, enough ofd the pleasentries for now, I are serious Darth and this are serious review…hmm maybe not. Okay, so as you can probably now tell, I have TWO bags of potato chips, or CRISPS as we call them here in the UK, and they come straight out of our very own pioneer of the UK hotsauce scene, Hot-Headz! As you can see from the photo, straight up both these bags ooze quality, from the foil wrapping and the background flames to the massive hot-headz logo emblazoned across the front you know full well that these crisps are not to be messed with, and will surely taste good? Well lets let my video do the talking, and you guys can do the watching, btw at around the 6 minute mark I do something REALLY STUPID, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!…I’ll say it again…DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!

So there you have it, quite probably the finest chilli crisps in the west! I have to say that the heat on the inferno ones is a definite builder and will surely satisfy any chillihead who fancies a snack that isn’t chilli peanuts, and wants something that is actually available right now to buy ;) The chips are of an outstanding quality, I don’t think I can stress that enough, they really are good, not greasy or underflavoured at all, crunchy and savoury and bloody tasty too!

At £4.98 for TWO 142G bags over at www.hot-headz.com, you’d be fookin mad not to grab a couple bags of each flavour right now!! In fact i reckon they’d go perfect with the hot-headz chile con queso dip..which remind me, I must get some of that!!

Anyway, without further ado my chilli padawanz, I will see you all soon, happy new year and all that shite :D May the sauce be with you, always!!!

It’s not everyday you come across a sauce that states on the label, ‘Add to everything’. Very bold statement, but then again it is from The Wiltshire Chilli Farm so I have no doubt they can back this up with its ‘Hellish Habanero’.

The Wiltshire Chilli Farm - Hellish Habanero

The Wiltshire Chilli Farm - Hellish Habanero

The bottle is stumpy and probably around the 200ml kind of size with nothing less than there professionally marketed glossy labelling which offers class, character and charm to its appearance. This bottle has a cheeky yet evil feel to it with its frightful and comical pumpkin grinning away.

‘This limited edition HOT sauce is packed with Habanero’s, Nagas and just a few Chipotles. Add to everything’ Followed with a humorous warning, ‘Pretty darn hot’. All I can say is bring it on Wiltshire Chilli farm, trying to intimidate me with your scary pictures and lingo on the bottle. You don’t scare me.

Ingredients: Habanero (35%), Cider vinegar, Naga Chilli, Onions, Chipotle, Garlic.

Bottle kindly provided by The Wiltshire Chilli Farm

Short list of ingredients here which makes it a nice and simple sauce. The smell is fairly typical of a Naga sauce but you get a mild Habanero aroma coming through too. To be fair Nagas do have a powerful smell so even a small amount would stick out. No other smells to report of, no overpowering vinegar or onion ect, just Chilli galore.

Nothing to fear in this sauce I reckon so come on Hellish Habanero, lets dance!!!

Ok so that’s the spoon done, and may I take this opportunity to take The Wiltshire Chilli farm to court for false advertising. ‘Pretty darn hot’???? Don’t you mean ‘Blow your head while kicking you in the stones with steel toe caps hot??? Jeez guys, for a non extract sauce that’s evil in a bottle. Last time I judge a sauce like that. The flavour is very much a Habanero taste but it strangely acts like a Naga where it takes a good 10-15 seconds before any heat comes off it. Before hand its just a lovely Hab flavour with a touch of fruitiness and naga. I was very tempted to have a second helping as it was soooo mild to start with, I just started chuckling to myself, it has no heat. More fool me. The heat started building at a stupid rate and before I knew it I was world hiccup champion with tears of joy for the flavour, but at the same time a pleasant pain. This sauce has immense heat and gorgeous flavour. Tastes are complimentary of each other and I am struggling to think of what this will not go with. I take my hat off to you Hellish Habanero, you caught me by surprise but was happy you did. Great bottle, great sauce. Simple as that.

I cannot tell you the price as it’s a limited edition bottle so pop www.justchillies.co.uk and drop them a mail. These guys wont rob you so don’t stress, good products at good value for money.

So until next time Chilliheads remember, if it burns going in, it will burn coming out.

Cranberry Sauce with Turkey on Christmas Day.. well almost, this year we will be having Cranberry Kick from the Wiltshire Chilli Farm with our Turkey.

The Wiltshire Chilli Farm - Cranberry Kick

The Wiltshire Chilli Farm - Cranberry Kick

I eat Cranberry almost everyday as part of my weekday breakfast routine, I love cranberries.. This jar has been sitting here at ChileFoundry HQ, just willing me to open it, but like a good reviewer I have been saving it for Christmas, well popping of the lid was no disappointment, a lovely smell of Cranberries with a just slight hint of the Habaneros.

Ingredients: Sugar, Cider Vinegar, Cranberry (8%), red pepper, Red Onion, Apple Pectin, Habanero Chillies.

Jar kindly supplied by The Wiltshire Chilli Farm

Oooooh this stuff is lush (as my daughter would say), it is sweet, sticky and bursting with cranberries, with just that bit of burning on the tip of my tongue. This is the idea Christmas condiment for that day of excess, or even the days after with this in my turkey sandwiches, or with cold turkey and mash.. I almost cannot wait for stress of cooking at Christmas.

Jamie and Julie’s chilli business is new this year and they have already made some exceptional products, and have been great entertainment at the show and events, we look forward to seeing what they do in the new year.

If you fancy a jar of this you will need to jump over the The Wiltshire Chilli Farm Web-site and snag a jar ASAP. At £3.75 for a jar I am sure it will not hanging about long, I have got mine, if it lasts that long.. Note to self : Must hide it away, just 15 days to go..
