We are hearing rumors that a new Chilli may have pipped even the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T to the World Record for the Worlds Hottest Chilli with a test result of 1,581,800 SHU.

The News is coming from from the “Chemical Technology department, at the Mumbai Institute of Research Institute in chili peppers in Mumbai!

More information as we find it, lets hope this is not a hoax.

Gerald from The Chilli Pepper Company has point out to us a new chilli variety. Developed in India as the ultimate chilli for making curries, this has not been created for it’s heat but for the flavour and it used with green as well as red.

The Chilli is a Cayenne type with long thin fruits, that are puckered in appearance
